About Me

Mark Backhouse: I have been bestowed the honour of “Keeper of the Quaich” by the Scotch whisky industry. I was the Chairman of the "Keeper of the Quaich" South Africa Chapter 2010 and 2011. I am still a passionate member. I love the story whisk(e)y & other spirits have to tell. I've been fortunate to have participated in numerous Master Classes: in Scotland and Ireland on whisk(e)y ; in France on Cognac, in Mexico on Tequila, in Cuba on Rum, in Sweden on Vodka.
